To all writers and non-writers out there, now is the time to start digging up those creative writing skills back.
With modern communication technology comes the popularity of information-based marketing, which is one of the oldest and most effective techniques in getting targeted prospects to sites and converting them into buyers. This is why article writing, submissions and publications are also getting popular.

There are already many tools that people can use to make the process of distributing their articles more easily. Though this is invaluable in getting the contents more exposure, which is only half of the story.
Let us take a look first at the common mistakes that some people make before submitting their contents to article directories:

1. Publishing content that does not help your readers.
Maybe in the process of writing articles, you are thinking that all that is you wanted is links back to your site. And any visitors it can generate are fine.
Guess what? Not all article banks and directories are going to accept your content automatically. Oftentimes, they have some guidelines and specifications on the articles that they are accepting.
You can double the number of sites you can submit to by writing articles that the directories want to share with other people. All it takes is one publisher with a hundred thousand readers to increase your potential audience overnight.
Write the articles that publishers want in their publications if you want your article marketing to work the most effective way for you. This also means you have to obey the standard guidelines, spell checks, researching on a good topic and even hiring a writer to produce a good content on your behalf.
In the end, it is all really a matter of choice on your part. You can start getting a little exposure from increased links back but on a very basic level. Or enjoy massive exposure from a little extra time making quality contents.
It will be your choice. You may not be aware of the fact that an article submitted on directories is not meant to have the same level of exposure as highly-targeted content ones geared on a narrow group of people.
Learn the difference between these two and it will surely help you know what kinds of articles to write and to submit.

2. Confusing the reason to promote the articles with the reason to write them.
In article writing, there are three key benefits why you are promoting them; branding, lead generation and promotion, which are all part of your optimization efforts.
But there is only one reason why you write an article, and that is to inform your audience. If the article is not focused on this primary and most important purpose, it will fail to achieve the three promotion benefits because no one will be interested in reading them.
You need to figure out first how to get people to read what is in your article, then make them click on your resource box. You can achieve this by producing better contents.

3. Failing to maximize the promotional opportunities of article marketing.
You may know already that your articles can help you generate additional links back to your site. But do you know that you can get more visitors and better search engine results from that same articles?
Mention keywords at strategic places. Just be sure not to overdo them. Some are even using anchor texts which is also an effective method. But it is important to know that majority of the directories are not able to support this.
Remember that is not only about the links back to your site. Part of doing well in your article marketing is getting picked up by publishers with a large number of audiences and gaining the ability of leveraging other brands because of the quality of your work. Better search engine results also are great benefits.
But these things do not put much money in your pocket. There are other factors that can turn your article marketing efforts into an opportunity that can boost your earnings. Not just increase the number of visitors to your site.
Start out with a plan and see to it that your article will serve the function that you intended it to have.

4 Things ALL Articles Must Have – Don’t Forget!

The importance of articles in today’s websites and internet based companies are immeasurable. They dictate a lot in the success and the drive of traffic into one’s site. It has become a key element in making a site work and earns a profit. A website operator and owner must have the good sense to include articles in his or her site that will work for them and earn them the many benefits articles can give to their site.

Articles have been known to be the driving force in driving traffic to a website. Articles are a factor in giving site high rankings in search result pages. The higher a site ranks the bigger slice of the traffic flow pie he gets. With a huge number in traffic flow, there are more profits and more potential for other income generating schemes as well.

But, it is not just about stuffing your site with articles; they have certain requirements as well. These requirements must be met to obtain the maximum benefits an article will provide for your site. A well written article will catch the eyes and interest of your customers and keep them coming back for more. They would also be able to recommend your site to others.

Here are some tips to help you and assist you in making your articles. Below you will read about four things all articles must have to make it successful and helpful in making your site a profit earning and traffic overflowing site.

?Keywords and Keyword Phrases.

An article must always be centered on the keywords and keyword phrases. As each website visitor goes to a site, there are those who are just merely browsing but actually looking for a specific something. When this happens, a searcher usually goes to a search engine and types in the keywords they are looking for (e.g. Toyota Camry, Meningitis, Tax Lawyer and Etcetera). It could be anything they want.

The Important thing is that you have an article that has the keywords that are related to your site. For example, if you maintain an auto parts site, you must be able t have articles about cars and their parts. There are many tools in the internet that provides service in helping a webmaster out in determining what keywords and keyword phrases are mostly sought out. You can use this tool to determine what keywords to use and write about.

?Keyword Density

Know that you have your keywords and keyword phrases, you must use them fully. An article must have good keyword density for a search engine to “feel?its presence. Articles should at least have ten to fifteen percent of keyword density in their content for search engines to rank a site high in their search results. Getting a high rank is what articles do best for a site.

Keyword density is the number of times a keyword or keyword phrase is used on an article. The number varies depending on the number of words used in an article. An effective article must have a keyword density that is not too high or too low. With a very high density, the essence of the article is lost and may turn off a reader as well as the search engines. It comes off as overeager. A low number may be ignored by the search engines.

?Good Article Content

Like what is stated above, you cannot just riddle an article with keywords. They must also be regarded as good reading materials. Articles must be able to entertain people as well as provide good information and help for their needs. Articles should be written well with correct spelling and good grammar. If you want people to trust you, make your work good and well thought out.

People respond well to figures, facts and statistics. Try to get great information and as many facts as you can. A good and well written article will boost your reputation as an expert in your chosen field or topic. As more people believe in you. They will be able to trust you and your products.

?Linking Articles

And another important thing to remember. If you are going to submit articles to ezines and/or contribute your articles to newsletters and other sites, DON’T ever forget to include a link to your site. A little resource box with a brief description of your site and you should always be placed right after your articles that you have submitted. If people like your articles, they will most likely click on the link directing them to your site.

Writing hundreds of articles in your related niche and making them available for distribution through article directories and ezines is one of the best strategies for increasing targeted traffic to your website. Considering getting your articles published online is free, article marketing is also most cost-effective strategy for increasing targeted traffic to your website.

Writing hundreds of articles in your related niche and making them available for distribution through article directories and ezines is one of the best strategies for increasing targeted traffic to your website. Considering getting your articles published online is free, article marketing is also most cost-effective strategy for increasing targeted traffic to your website.

Here’s how article marketing through article directories and ezines drives traffic to your website:

* When your key-word rich article is published by established ezines that are highly ranked by major search engines, your article could very well zoom up to the top ten results for that keyword search. This is something you could hardly hope to achieve on your own. Anyone who clicks on to the link and reads your article will also click on the link to your website, which can be accessed from the author’s box that is featured at the end of the article. An added benefit of getting traffic using this method is that the traffic is likely to be highly targeted traffic, which is the only kind that matters in the end. Whoever arrives at your site via this route has clicked on the link to your article and read your article. Because they are impressed with what they read, they would have immediately acknowledged your proficiency in the area and have now come to your site looking for the more information from you.

* Writing a valuable and informative niche-related articles and publishing them with reputed ezines establishes you as an authority in the field. This recognition can give you the competitive edge against other businesses in the same niche as customers prefer to buy from someone who knows what they are talking about. An unexpected bonus- taking the time and trouble to write articles and get them published through ezines and article directories indicates that you are not some scam-artist or fly-by-night marketer out to make a few quick bucks on the internet. Publishing articles regularly with ezines and article directories gives you and your business extra credibility and also helps you build a rapport with your prospective clients. People who buy on the internet and who are looking for the product you are offering, would prefer to buy from you rather than somebody they cannot trust.

* Submitting your articles to the right article directories helps you to build up valuable back links by having these article directories link to your optimized web pages by way of your article. Obtaining several relevant back links helps you enhance your search engine rankings, pushing your web page to the top 10 rankings for your optimized keywords. While this may not happen overnight, it’s a sure fire way of eventually getting your web page right where it can be seen to all those who matter.

* Some ezine publishers even archive their ezine on their site. This offers potential customers the chance to check out back issues before they make a commitment to subscribe. Getting your article archived means it can be viewed over and over again several years down the line, increasing your exposure tremendously and driving traffic to your site several years after the article was first published.

* Another way to increase traffic to your website is by allowing ezine publishers to include your articles in their free Ebooks. This increases the exposure of your article even more and anyone interested in visiting your website can easily do so by clicking in the link contained in your resource box.

* Some ezine publishers allow their visitors to republish articles that are featured in the free content directory on their website, the only caveat being that the author resource box that accompanies every article is featured along with the article. There’s no saying where your articles are likely to end up and who will be reading them! Your article could pique the interest of somebody who had till that moment not the slightest inclination to buy whatever it is you are offering. And if the quality of your product matches the high quality of your article you will have converted yet another curious visitor into a loyal customer.

If you’ve been hesitating to submit your articles to ezines on the premise that you would like to get paid for articles that you write and publish, then it’s time you woke up to the extended benefits of article marketing through ezines and article directories. It drives traffic that too, not any old traffic but quality, targeted traffic stampeding to your site without costing you a dime. Think of all the money you would have spent to attract the same volume of potential customers by any of the more conventional forms of advertising.
Here are a few factors that will help you choose the right article directory to submit your article to:
* Look for article directories that have been in business for more than a year. Article directories that have been in existence longer would rank higher with the major search engines and would also have a larger reader base.
* Article directories that feature less than 1,000 authors have not hit the big time yet and are best avoided. Look for article directories that have over one to five thousand authors.
* Ideally, a good article directory should be powered by humans and should have the name of the owner or the person in charge clearly visible. Absence of either one of these factors indicates that the owner does not want to be held accountable and that the site is fully automated, which means there is nobody policing the quality of the content. Better to avoid being associated with such a site.
* If your e-mails go unanswered for more than 48 hours it speaks of dismal lack of service and is an indication of worse to come after you join up.
Getting your article published in a few carefully selected article directories and ezines will guarantee better exposure of high quality rather than getting your article published in several sub-standard article directories.

Boost Article Marketing’s Search Engine Ranking Through Keyword Usage

By , September 25, 2015 4:44 pm

When writing article marketing content it is important to make sure the copy itself would be able to reach the intended and target readers.

article marketing, submit articles

When writing article marketing content it is important to make sure the copy itself would be able to reach the intended and target readers. That is imperative because obviously, no content or article marketing copy would ever succeed in attaining its purpose if it is not targeted well. No matter how informative, entertaining, engaging and interesting your article is, if it is not gaining a favorable and appropriate search engine ranking, it would not be disseminated and shared well to reach its target audience. Thus, it is important to know some methods on how you could effectively manipulate the use of keywords to meet your article marketing goals.

To begin with, it is most significant to determine the right keywords for the subject you are writing about. A keyword is a main subject that would be the focus and theme of the entire marketing article. When using keywords in this regard, be reminded that keywords can be made up of a single word, a phrase, group of words or different sets of words that are put together. Keywords are important because that would be how search engines would identify, index and rank articles.

For example, you are using the search engine to search for articles with ‘article marketing’ as the keyword. Upon typing the phrase into the search engine box, a page containing all sites and Webpage addresses containing direct links would be flashed into the computer screen. Notice that the listing consists of several or numerous listings. Also take note that those sites and links listed on the topmost portion would likely solicit and enjoy more search engine clicks from online readers. You surely would look first at those listed on the first few links. And for sure, you would be more likely checking them out than the rest.

That is the wonder of using search engine ranking well. An article or a Website is enjoying a high search engine ranking if it is listed first on search engine results. You know for now that articles or sites with high ranking are more likely to enjoy higher page and readers review. As an article marketing writer, you naturally would be inclined to aim to attain that ideal search engine ranking. And manipulating with the working and operational keywords is the most likely key to that.

To be able to understand more the role of keywords targeting and usage in making your article marketing copy really effective, it would be better to know more about some specific keyword concepts. The following are those along with recommended actions to make your articles work.

Keyword density

This concept basically refers to the percentage or ratio of keywords within the overall volume of words that can be indexed within the whole Web page. Some companies and article marketing clients are particularly instructing writers to make sure the keyword density of the article is made ideal. In general, it is an unwritten rule or a strong recommendation from experts to make sure the keyword density is maintained at about 2% to 8%. This way, you can make sure that your article marketing output is well endowed and sprinkled with the most helpful and noticeable volume of keywords. Doing so would also help ensure a favorable and desired search engine ranking.

Keyword frequency

This concept is basically referring to the total number of times a particular keyword or keyword phrases are used not just within an article but within the entire Website. As you know, online sites are not just consisting of the article content. Usually, Website designs and pages are consisting of logos and brief descriptions of the content or of the subject or content to which the site is focused at. In general, the more frequent a keyword appears in the online site, the more likely any search engine would allot a high search engine ranking for that keyword.

Keyword prominence

The term keyword prominence is not widely known and practiced but it is one of the most needed. It refers to the way prominent keywords are strategically used inside the online site. As a recommendation, experts advise article marketers to put significant keywords within, near or at the beginning of the online page, or at the first sentence, title or within what is referred to as the meta tag.

Keyword proximity

The term refers to the proximity or closeness between keywords. With this regard, it is advisable that keywords be closer and more identical or synonymous with each other. For example, the keyword ‘search engine rankings, is proximate, close or equal to the keyword ‘rankings in search engine’. It would be advisable to use the two at the same time as operational keywords so that any way online searchers make their queries, they would be able to arrive at the same result.

Would you like to get hundreds or even thousands of high-quality inbound links to your website? Do you wish your online marketing campaigns brought more visitors to your website? Would you like to establish yourself as a respected and well-known expert in your niche? How is this possible? By writing and submitting articles to article submission sites. Here is how it works…

Here’s how it works:

You write articles on topics related to your website’s niche. At the end of the articles, the standard and accepted practice is for writers to include a resource box – a short biography with a link to your website. Keep this brief and to the point, no more than two or three sentences plus your link. Just be sure to arouse enough interest in your articles and your resource box that readers will click through to your website.

Now it is time to submit your article to article submission sites. You can start by submitting your article to my site, ElectricText. You will find a link in my resource box at the bottom of this article. Next, go to your favorite search engine and type in keywords like “article submission sites” or “article submission.” You will find hundreds of article submission sites.

Article submission sites accept article submissions from writers. Just click over to ElectricText and the other article submission sites you’ve found and create accounts at each. Generally you just choose a username and password and maybe a pen name for each of the article submission sites, and then you can submit your article. If your article submission is accepted, each will publish it in their article directory for others to republish.

Webmasters and newsletter publishers are always looking for content for their online marketing campaigns. They visit article submission sites to find articles to publish on their websites or in their email newsletters (ezines). One good article posted to a large number of article submission sites can literally be republished on hundreds of websites.

Because of the link in your resource box, all of those websites will now link back to your website. Imagine thousands of copies of your articles with links to your website scattered all over the Internet. The people that read your articles and click through to your website will be people already interested in your niche. And the fact that they clicked through tells you that they already liked what you have to say. In other words, they are open and receptive to your message. Can you think of any other online marketing method that would produce better, more targeted traffic?

But that’s just the obvious benefit. The less obvious but equally important benefit for your online marketing is Search Engine Optimization (SEO). All of the major search engines compete for business by trying to return the most relevant results. Most search engines, especially Google, consider inbound links as one of the most important measures of the relevance of a website. Links from web pages about the same topic as your website, and where the link also contains keywords appropriate for your topic, are all the better.

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to realize that if you write articles about the topic of your website, with links to your website in the resource boxes, this is exactly what you are providing for the search engines. So not only do you get traffic directly from people reading your articles and clicking your links, you also get ranked higher in the search engines for your keywords. Plus, you are building your reputation. People start seeing your articles all over, and start seeing your website everywhere in the search engine results. You have now become an authority on your niche! And the more you become an authority, the easier your online marketing efforts become.

Put all this together and it’s easy to see the value of article submission sites in your online marketing campaigns. Time to start writing and submitting those articles!

How To Make Money From Your Writing Skills

By , September 21, 2015 7:23 pm

I am one of many people who have realised the many benefits that writing articles can bring. Article marketing is now widely recognised as an excellent way of promoting a website, however there are many more opportunities out there to make money for the budding writer.

I am one of many people who have realised the many benefits that writing articles can bring. Article marketing is now widely recognised as an excellent way of promoting a website, however there are many more opportunities out there to make money for the budding writer.

I just happened to stumble across the idea of writing articles around eight months ago when I was discussing different forms of website promotion with a friend of mine. I was looking at ways in which I could attract more visitors to my own sites and he advised me to commence writing articles.

The advice was sound and I have not looked back since. Writing articles is a superb way of gaining extra one-way backward links to your site and the readers of each article are also potential visitors.

I attempt to write around seven articles per week which is not easy at times but is something I am aware will help my sites.

In each article I try to give advice and attempt to make them enjoyable for any potential reader.

There are other ways that people like myself, who enjoy to write can make money from their skills.

Other people are also aware of the benefits of article marketing but just do not have the time to write themselves. These people are always on the lookout for somebody to help them out, somebody who will write and submit an article for them. There are a number of websites where each writer can notify people of their services and where other people can post a project that they would like to be completed.

Other areas where people can earn additional cash from their skills is via writing freelance for newspapers and magazines. If your skills are of a higher enough quality and what you write is of interest to a wide audience, there is no reason why you could not earn money in this way.

Writing has never been more in demand and now is the time for people who feel that they have the gift to make the most out of this opportunity. There is a lot of rubbish being written on the web at the moment and quality will always stand out.

Many people might argue that they are not well enough educated to be accepted as a writer in certain quarters. This may well be correct for some people out there, however if you do not try you will never know. Content is king as they say and if your content is good enough and of interest, why would people have an issue with your lack of examinations etc.

Ensure that your content is easy to read and that all of the words are spelt correct. The world is your oyster, go for it.

Article Writing

By , September 19, 2015 8:31 pm

Article writing to generate web site traffic is a great idea. One important key that makes it work, though, is efficiency. Learn how to triple your output.

article writing, articles, online articles

When I learned about article writing as a way to generate web site traffic, I was intrigued. Unfortunately, it took me several hours to write that first article for my backpacking web site, and another two hours to submit it to several article directories. I still liked the idea, but it seemed like a lot of work for the results. There had to be a better way.

Today, I often write a new article in less than thirty minutes. Then I submit it to fourteen article directories in about twenty minutes. This means six times as much output in the same time, which means six times as much traffic generated, which means six times as much money made for the same effort. It seems very worthwhile now.

Article Writing Efficiency

First, I learned to write shorter articles. Attention spans online are short, and you want to keep the reader reading to the end – where the link to your site is. You also want the article to be used on other sites, and many webmasters won’t use long articles. These are two good reasons to keep it short. Of course this means less time writing too.

I soon learned to identify the essential information quickly. In fact, articles like “Free Web Site Traffic – Seven Ways,” get right to the point and are basically a list with a quick explanation of each item. They are easy to write quickly, and popular with readers.

The next important lesson I learned, was to keep a list of article directories on a file in the computer. I copy and paste an address into the browser for quick access to any of the twenty directories on my list. The addresses go straight to the submission page, or the login page. Links in your “favorites” list would work well too.

The most tedious part of the article writing process is the article submission forms. Some directories ask for descriptions, others don’t. Some allow HTML, and others don’t. To make this part go quickly, keep your articles organized in a Window’s Notepad file or something similar. Write the title, then a two or three sentence description, and then a list of three to six keywords that the article might be found by. Then write the article.

You may find it faster to have two versions prepared, one with HTML tags for things like subtitles and italicizing. Have an author’s resource box (like the one at the bottom of this page) prepared in two versions too – one with just the full URL of your web site, and the other with an active HTML link.

Now you can go quickly to the directories on your list, and copy and paste the proper elements in the proper parts of the form. If you have an auto-fill function on a Google or other toolbar, you can also enter name and e-mail address with a click.

Speed is the result, meaning more money for the time spent. To really make it efficient, you have to have a system. You can start with mine. Then look, and you’ll find even more ways to systematize your article writing.

Ignore At Your Own Peril – Article Submission Mistakes

By , September 17, 2015 8:46 pm

Avoid having your article tossed into the “delete” file by following these basic steps.

marketing with articles,article submission sites,publishers,editors,writing,write,formatting,directory,directories,newsgroups,documents

The most important task in the world of marketing with articles is to create relationships with editors. This is not to say that you need to invite them to dinner or even call them on a regular basis. You do have to be polite, reliable and submit quality articles. If possible, engage the editor in conversation via e-mail and let them know to ask you for additional articles when they have a need. Don’t be one of those authors that drive editors crazy. If you do, editors are likely to make sure your articles end up in the “delete” folder. Follow the best practices below and editors will likely put you at the top of their “favorite authors” file:

* Be courteous and use professional language when approaching editors. Treat editors the way you expect to be treated.

* Using correct spelling, grammar and punctuation is vital. Experienced editors will throw out an article with even one of these mistakes.

* Format articles properly in a text editor. Never use a traditional word processing program when writing your articles or your format will be garbled.

* Avoid boring titles and boring text. Tell a story, add a twist and have some fun while writing. Editors love receiving something new and exciting.

* Write only about things you know. You are not an expert on everything.

* Submit only your own original documents. Don’t copy from someone else.

* Read the guidelines and view archived articles to make sure you follow all the rules.

* Submit on-topic articles only. Today I wasted time getting rid of articles about diving, nursing and frugal living. My guidelines clearly state I only accept articles about article submissions!

* Fill out forms completely and include contact information with e-mails.

* Savvy article writers never submit articles that are thinly disguised sales letters or advertising.

* Some editors will send you an e-mail when they use your article and some don’t. Never, never, never bombard an editor and ask when and if your article will be published.

* Remove editors from your list promptly when asked. If you continue to submit when told not to then you are in violation of spam laws.

* Submit only one or two articles per week to your list. I know writers who submit dozens of articles a week to their list. This is annoying and can be seen as “spamming” even if you follow all the rules.

Remember that editors are busy people just like you and me. Don’t waste their time, be professional and let them know you appreciate the opportunity to work with them. Carefully cultivate your relationship with editors and your article submission efforts will bloom!

Article Marketing Just Got Easier For Content Publishers Thanks To RSS Syndication Technology

By , September 15, 2015 9:49 pm

This article explains how RSS Syndication combined with Article Marketing can send you thousands of FREE targeted visitors to website of choice.

article marketing,rss syndication,content publishers

Copyright 2006 The IWE, LLC. All Rights Reserved.

RSS(Real Simple Syndication) is the BIG… Buzz around the Internet these days because of its Powerful ability to syndicate content Effortlessly and Instantly across the Internet to any website and/or subscriber who subscribed to that particular RSS Feed with a 100% GUARANTEED delivery.

What other technology online can guarantee you that?

Email? I don’t think so.

RSS is it… Period!

And the crazy thing is, everybody who publishes content on their website on a regular basis is quickly adapting because of the many benefits RSS offers because lets face it, updating content manually on any given website is a very time consuming task, especially when you have to do it on a Day In and Day Out basis.

But, by having an RSS enabled website, not only do you get high quality content INSTANTLY delivered, you can now give your audience more content with less work on your part leaving you more time to focus on other important tasks you might have sitting on the back burner when you have time.

This is the main benefit RSS Syndication gives the website owner and/or valued subscriber.

Now that you have some idea of how RSS can simplify updating content on any given website, what does this have to do with Article Marketing and how does it benefit the content publisher who writes the articles?

Well… lets talk about it.

We all know that content is the life blood of the Internet and is why most people come online… right?

We also know that RSS syndicates content to whatever website that is RSS enabled and/or subscriber who uses an RSS aggregator.

The BIG question that’s probably floating around in your head is… how do Article Publishers who write the articles benefit from RSS Syndication?

The answer is simple really.

Ever heard the phrase… “The Internet Is Nothing More Then A Numbers Game”?

If not, now you have and that is exactly what RSS Syndication will do for anybody who does or is just starting out can expect to benefit from by joining the Article Marketing game.

Let’s talk about this a little more so it’s clear in your mind.

Let’s say you write your first article and your manage to locate, lets say… 20 Article Directories that offer FREE Article Submissions and offer RSS Feeds to website owners and to the general public to use.

And lets say that those 20 Article Directories collected all their RSS Feeds and submitted them to all the TOP RSS Directories on the web so that website owners and/or people with RSS Aggregators can locate those RSS Feeds so they can subscribe to them.

You with me so far?

Now, you go and submit your article to all 20 Article Directories and wait for their reply to see if your article got accepted.

You check your Inbox and find that all 20 article directories accepted your article into their database and would be syndicating it within the next 24 hours.

Notice I said the word “syndicating”. That’s because once your article is approved by that article directory and because these article directories use RSS technology to syndicate NEW content to whoever is subscribed, guess what happens to your article?

It gets syndicated to whoever is subscribed to that RSS Feed. So if you submitted to all 20 article directories under whatever category, and there were 200 subscribers per article directory subscribed to that RSS Feed, guess how many potential customers you will possibly come in contact with through your articles Resource Box?

Lets do the math… how’s 4000 potential subscribers, which means you have a potential of receiving 4000 potential visitors to your website of choice… Absolutely FREE!

That’s the power of RSS Syndication and is WHY article marketing is becoming one of the #1 ways to promote ANY website online.

I wrote this article just as a quick example of what RSS Technology can do for anyone using it on their websites and for those who use articles as part of their website promotion strategy so you can see how RSS will get your articles more exposure with NO extra work on your part.

How To Choose The Best Directories For Your Article Writing Campaign

Finding the best high-quality article directories that meet your specific needs and match your specific goals can greatly increase the power of your article marketing campaign. You need to become a savvy article marketer to maximize your article marketing campaign.

If you have spent any time at all researching internet marketing strategies then you know that writing articles can help position you as an expert in your field, gain valuable targeted traffic for your web site, drive leads to your products, grow your email list, and quickly multiple your site’s text links.

Once you are ready to dive into article marketing — and you have a few articles all lined up and ready to submit — you can quickly become overwhelmed by the sheer volume of article directories available. Sure you could simply use a search engine to locate article directories but a recent search netted me 17,800,000 results. That’s enough to make anyone give up before they even begin! Plus that is really not a very effective way to determine the quality of a directory and doing your own quality check can be extremely time-consuming.

Why should you care about the quality of the directory? Just think about it. On the internet you are very much judged (by search engines and visitors alike) by the company you keep. Another important reason to carefully select your article directories is that your time is finite. It is better to regularly submit to a core group of high-quality directories than to throw the same handful of articles at every directory site you can find.

Great, but how do you find those high-quality directories?

When I first embarked on article marketing I went straight to people who had been article marketing for a while and asked them for their top recommendations. I posted the question in a couple forums that I regularly check. I quickly assembled a list of hundreds of sites. Now obviously this list is much more manageable than the 17+ million I got from Google but still rather large. First I culled through and found the sites that were mentioned by more than one person and that list became my starting point. I then gathered as much information as possible to determine if they were right for me. I will share my criteria and priorities but you need to work out your own.

Here are the 10 essential questions I ask when reviewing a site:

1. How old is the directory? Is it well established and ranked or is it new and growing? If not then I cross it off the list.

2. Can you easily identify who owns and/or operates the directory? Is there a way to contact that person?

3. How fast do they respond to your email contacts and/or article posts?

4. How many authors does the site have listed? A lot of authors and articles mean a well established site but there may be room on a growing site for more exposure.

5. How many articles does the site have listed? Again a big site won’t get knocked off my list for this but a small site that is growing steadily might be due for a good seo bump soon.

6. Think about the categories you are likely to need and see if they exist. Is there a place to submit all your articles? If this is a niche directory it may be very narrow but then might also be to your benefit in the long run — if at least some of your articles fit within the niche.

7. What special options does the site offer visitors and publishers? Do they provide RSS feeds, email alerts, forward to a friend function and other strategies to increase the distribution of your articles?

8. Are they responsible with the advertising clients they have on their site? ie: No popups, flashing, or offensive ads

9. Do they provide article reports to help you see which articles are getting viewed, rated, distributed or not?

10. How do the search engines view this site?

After visiting each directory and answering these questions it is easy to refine your list to a handful of top sites that you want to really concentrate your efforts upon. You can also maintain some a list of additional sites to submit to as time allows.

I also regularly re-evaluate my top article directory list. I check my backlinks and the directory stats to see how my articles are doing. Some sites move up and down my priority list (or even off the list entirely) when I investigate how they are performing for me.

You could have a terrific product and a wonderful sales strategy, but without the targeted traffic your online business could be going no-where.

You can take advantage of a ton of free article submission sites on the internet, where you can submit your articles for free, some also offer software and services to help in the process. Once approved, the sites will make your articles available for distribution and publication to ezines, webmasters etc… Now there is no more need to beg for reciprocal link exchanges, pay for text links, or spend hours posting free ads to link farms that no one will read anyway. Articles, written yourself, are becoming the fastest and cheapest way to see results from your efforts.

When done properly, article marketing can be a very powerful tool to drive loads of targeted traffic to your web site.
